Backing up files is an important operation, but it can take a long time if you perform it manually. If you want to focus on your work, instead of spending your time copying files from one location to another, you can let avast! BackUp do it for you. The software's purpose is to back up any data automatically, without asking you for anything. It stores your data on the cloud and you can set it to back up specific files and folders, according to your own timetable.

avast! BackUp is not free, but you can request a fully functional trial version, which can be used for 30 days. Apart from a constant connection to the Internet, you don't have to meet any special requirements. The software is compatible with all popular Windows versions and it does not ask for powerful hardware.

Once you install and launch avast! BackUp, the software will automatically start an initial backup process. By default, it will back up your Documents folder, web browser favorites and contents from other common locations. Depending on the amount of data, the process may take several hours or even longer, but the good news is that you can let the program work quietly in the background, until the procedure is complete. The backup progress is displayed on a compact user interface, on which you can pause the operation at any time, with a single click.

You can reconfigure how and what the software should back up, on a larger window, with multiple tabs. Besides targeting common locations, like the Documents folder, SQL databases or web browser components, you can also target individual files and folders on your hard drive. Automation is avast! BackUp's main advantage and this is why the program is quite flexible when it comes to scheduling backup operations. Depending on your settings, it can back up the targeted data when the computer is idle, or on a daily or weekly basis, within 15 minutes or a time of your choice.

It is also possible to set up a local backup, which is executed at the same time with the cloud backup. The best part is that avast! BackUp allows you to make a wide range of configurations, to ensure that all backup operations will run without any problems. For example, you can set the program to execute a maximum number of backup jobs per day or prevent it from backing up files if the CPU usage exceeds a certain threshold.

Pros

The software can automatically back up your data on a daily or weekly basis. It allows you to set up a timetable in a flexible manner and you can also establish various parameters, to make sure that your backup operations will be performed successfully.

Cons

There are no serious drawbacks to mention. While using avast! BackUp, you will never have to worry about backing up your important files.
